My first project as an architecture student at Washington University in St. Louis. First, we were instructed to find a natural pattern in Forest Park in St. Louis. Following that, we were to make a tracing and a basswood model informed by the pattern we discovered. After creating a basswood model, we then created a wire model informed by the prior studies which interacted with the basswood model which served as a topographical guide. After these two models were completed we were prompted to design an observatory in Forest Park. This observatory is meant to be for the viewing of some natural phenomena in the park. I chose to focus on textures of the landscape.
